Dave Losure and Mary Schaeffer-Losure serve up a lively repertoire on fiddles, fretless banjo, fiddlesticks, pitchfork, washtub, washboard, limberjack, mouthbow, percussive dance and more. This music came with Celtic immigrants to the southern Applachians where it gained vigor from African and American Indian rhythmic influences.

Jesse Blumberg won our hearts in 2007 with his beautiful musicianship and winning personality. He continues to perform throughout the country, recently appearing in Annapolis Opera's production of I Pagliacci. Mr. Blumberg's vocal partner for this concert is Deborah Selig, an active soloist in recital, oratorio and opera. Pianist Cameron Stowe, a leading specialist in the performance of vocal recital repertoire, has performed in this country's most prestigious venues for vocal music. (Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall is located in the Music Hall on the Iowa State campus.) |
